There are many organizations that specialize in organizing adventure family vacations or parents can organize adventure travel vacations themselves for the whole family. Obviously, the more risky and arduous escapades are not appropriate for most families, but there are a wide variety of adventure activities which children can participate in safely.

Family adventure vacations are ideal for stimulating children. Nowadays, children spend a lot of time watching TV and and playing video games. Parents are often too busy to offer appealing alternatives. Getting interested in adventure family vacations can help, even if only overnight family adventure vacations are all that can be worked in with the family. Though at times lodging may be luxurious and include television, the majority of the time is spent in activities such as hiking, camping, white water rafting, or visiting archeological sites, away from the usual technological distractions.
